How we handle the information you share with us. Plain English, no tricks.
Last updated: September 8, 2026
The John & Mia D'Onofrio Foundation ("JMDF," "we," "our") is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children's mental health and educational needs. This policy explains what information we collect through jmdf.org and how we use it.
When you RSVP for one of our events, we collect your first name, last name, email address, and optionally your phone number and the names of any guests you are bringing. We use this to plan the event and follow up with you.
When you donate, our donation platform (Givebutter) processes your payment and collects the information needed to complete it, including your name, email, billing address, and payment details. We do not see or store your payment card information.
When you contact us by email, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply and reference the conversation later.
Our servers automatically log a hashed version of your IP address and your browser type when you submit a form. This is used only to prevent spam and abuse. We do not use these logs to identify or track you across other sites.
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not run advertising or marketing pixels on our site. We do not track you across other websites. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the site and our programs. Each of these providers processes your information only to deliver its service to us and is bound by its own privacy commitments.
We may share information if we are legally required to (for example, in response to a valid subpoena), or if it is necessary to protect the safety of our community.
You can ask us to see the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@jmdf.org and we will respond within 30 days. You can unsubscribe from any email we send by replying to it or clicking the unsubscribe link.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. Contact us at the same email to exercise these rights. We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is required.
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level database security, and limited access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours protected.
If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify you by email.
